Getting here and arrival

Balam Balam Place is located at 15 Phoenix Street, Brunswick VIC 3056.

The precinct sits in the heart of Brunswick, a short walk from Sydney Road, Brunswick Station, tram stops and bus stops. 

The easiest way to arrive is via the South Building located just next to Home Economics Cafe and Blak Dot Gallery. Look for the Big Yellow Arrow!

When you arrive at the South Building, please come to reception on the Ground Floor.

If reception is unattended, or you need assistance finding your room, please call 0429 568 798.

Furniture, AV and room setup

All bookings start and finish on the hour, so please make sure when you are organising your booking you include an allowance for set up and pack down.

A condition of the hire is that rooms are returned to their original condition at the end of your booking. The room should be cleaned and vacuumed if necessary, and left tidy for the next group that might be using the space after you. 

There is a wall mounted stick vacuum located just past the bathrooms on each floor, alongside general waste and recycling bins in the same location.

Tables and chairs are available for bookings as required and extras can be found in the corridor outside of your room. If more are required, please contact the reception staff.

Whiteboards and large TV monitors on wheels are available on request, subject to availability. Any further AV or furniture needs can generally be accommodated, so please nominate your requirements in the booking form and the team will be in touch if they need any further information.

Parking, bikes and access

Nearby parking options include paid all-day parking on Dawson Street opposite Brunswick Baths. Visitors can also use the Woolworths car park on Phoenix Street for up to 90 minutes for free, with paid parking after that. Limited two-hour on-street parking is available nearby.

Under-cover bike parking is available on site, just ask the friendly staff at reception to show you where. There are also plenty of council installed bike hoops outside along Phoenix Street.

Balam Balam Place includes accessible paths, lifts, wide corridors and accessible toilets. Please let us know about any access requirements when making your booking so we can support your visit.

Public transport

Route 19 tram
Get off at the Glenlyon Rd/Sydney Rd or Brunswick Town Hall/Sydney Rd intersection. Walk East along Dawson St and turn right into Saxon St.

Route 506 bus
Get off at the Sydney Rd/Glenlyon Rd bus stop. Walk East along Dawson St and turn right into Saxon St.

Brunswick Station on the Upfield train line
Get off at Brunswick Station. Walk South down the Upfield Bike Path and turn left at Phoenix St.
